SoCal Tacos
SoCal Tacos is a Mexican street food restaurant in Antwerp-Brederode. They serve Mexican street food inspired by Southern California. The recipes are a mix of traditional and family favorites passed down from the owner’s Mexican roots, with a modern Southern Californian twist. Every month they also feature different specials, keeping the menu fresh and exciting. The owner, a woman who lived in Southern California but is originally from Mexico, started with a food truck at various locations around Antwerp. Today, SoCal Tacos has a fixed location open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while the food truck can still be found on Thursday at Napoleonkaai and at different spots around the city on other days. The menu includes tacos, chilaquiles, quesadillas (only on Friday), quesabirrias (only on Sunday), along with soft drinks, cocktails, and tepache, a homemade kombucha. The interior and concept are colorful, casual and fun—perfect for a quick bite, whether you eat standing, at a few available seats, or take your food to go. When the sun’s out, it’s also possible to enjoy your food on their small terrace. PS: SoCal also hosts special events, like Mexican Independence Day parties, making it more than just a meal but a celebration of Mexican culture and street food vibes.
